Jaialdi:
Celebrating Boise's Basque Culture
Southwest Idaho is home to one of the largest concentrations of Basque people outside of Spain. The Basque Block in downtown Boise is a cultural epicenter for colorful architecture, delicious food, pubs and museums. Jaialdi—one of the largest Basque festivals in the world—is a celebration of this culture that occurs every five years. Thousands of people from around the world travel to Idaho for this spirited weeklong event to eat, drink, dance, play games and make music with new acquaintances and old friends.
