The City of Rocks National Reserve is one of southern Idaho’s best backcountry adventures. The 14,407-acre reserve is situated at the southern end of the Albion Mountains and features towering granite pinnacles, fins and domes. Climbers come from around the world to conquer routes ranging in difficulty from 5.0 (easy) to 5.13 (very difficult). The reserve is also known for its hiking, mountain biking and bird watching opportunities along with snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter.

Things to Know

Hiking during the winter and early spring may be difficult if trails are saturated with rain or snow.
During the summer remember to take plenty of water to keep hydrated.
All roads are gravel. Some roads may be impassable from November through April.
There is no fee to enter the Reserve.
